Blackberry cobbler with cake mix

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup water
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, pinch of nutmeg, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the blackberries
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread blackberries evenly in the dish. Sprinkle with sugar and drizzle with lemon juice.

2️⃣ Add the cake mix
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the blackberries. Do not stir.

3️⃣ Pour the butter & water
Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix. Pour water around the edges of the pan.

4️⃣ Bake to golden perfection
Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the berries bubble through.

5️⃣ Serve and enjoy
Let the cobbler rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream!

Notes

Pro oh là là tip: for extra depth of flavor, stir a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg into the cake mix before baking!
