Ingredients
1 refrigerated pie crust
1 pound ground beef
1 pound beef sausage
1 cup marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
20 to 25 turkey pepperoni slices
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
Olive oil for cooking and brushing
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep your crust and pan: preheat oven to 375°F. Press pie crust into a deep-dish pie pan, smoothing out any air bubbles. Chill in the fridge while prepping the filling.
2️⃣ Cook the meat filling: heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown ground beef and sausage, breaking up the meat. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Drain fat. Stir in marinara sauce, and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened.
3️⃣ Assemble your layers: Fill the chilled crust with the meat mixture. Top with half the mozzarella and cheddar. Add the remaining cheese for a golden, gooey finish.
4️⃣ Add the pepperoni topping: layer turkey pepperoni slices on top, slightly overlapping. Brush crust edges with olive oil for color and crispness.
5️⃣ Bake, rest, and serve: bake for 25 to 30 minutes until crust is golden and pepperoni is crisp. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into hearty wedges.
Notes
Pro oh là là tip: for an extra burst of flavor, brush the crust with garlic-infused olive oil before baking. It adds a subtle, irresistible aroma and golden finish.
