Lemon balm drink

  • Author: Chef Kai
  • Total Time: 10 - 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon balm leaves, rinsed and patted dry
  • 2 cups hot water (not boiling)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (or preferred sweetener)
  • 1 lemon slice (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
  • ½ teaspoon grated ginger (optional, for warmth)
  • ½ teaspoon dried chamomile flowers (optional, for a floral note)
  • Ice cubes (for iced version)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the lemon balm
Rinse and pat dry the leaves, then gently bruise them to release their natural oils.

2️⃣ Steep the infusion
Add lemon balm, ginger, chamomile, or any optional herbs to a teapot or cup. Pour hot water over them and let steep for 5–10 minutes, depending on desired strength.

3️⃣ Strain and flavor
Strain the liquid or remove some leaves while keeping a few for presentation. Stir in honey and add a lemon slice or a splash of fresh lemon juice.

4️⃣ Serve and enjoy
Pour into cups and garnish with lemon slices. For an iced version, let the drink cool before serving over ice with fresh mint.

Notes

Pro oh là là tip: for a more intense herbal flavor, lightly crush the ginger and steep the mixture a few extra minutes before straining.
